We are a small yard, with professional level facilities and provide an ideal base for the competitive amateur owner/rider.   

A trustworthy livery service, particularly suited to a competitive rider, due to facilities and an onsite BS Accredited coach. However, anyone looking for a small (5/6 horses) professional yard, staffed by grooms with an eye for detail and empathy with the horse, that has a structured routine, would feel at home. Easy access to hacking, easy access for vehicles.

Thundry Farm Livery & Training Yard is located in the heart of the Surrey Hills, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and within easy reach of the road network (M3, A3, M25).  

At the heart of everything that we do is our passion for the well being of the horses in our care. Their human owners run a close second.  We want everyone to look forward to being at the yard, whatever they do with their horse – hack, jump 90cm, or 1.30m.

Maintained school where jumps are set up and available for use. Group and 1-2-1 coaching available, plus visiting coaches and practitioners.

Three inclusive packages to work with the time you have available. All include:

• indoor school
• individual turn out
• internal brick stables
• horse walker
• lunge arena
• jump paddock
• late check and feed
• discounted coaching rates
• lorry parking
• shavings beds
• high fibre diet (6 feed times)
• staff on site.

Within our packages we can offer everything from: washing horse rugs, saddle pads & boots; full daily groom; daily tack cleaning; preparing your horse for you to ride and exercise.

Whatever the package we take care of the heavy work and daily routine. Which makes it a good option for the more ‘mature’ rider and those who are time poor.

Short or long term arrangements, including stays for intensive rider training, rehab care and holiday.

We are mainly an adult yard, not that we haven’t had younger people here.  Anyone under 16 will have to be accompanied by an adult.  And all liveries are expected to be respectful of the facilities and other yard members, as we aim to have a peaceful environment.

We offer all year turnout, which is restricted to half day in the winter months. In the summer you have the option of day time, overnight or 24/7. This is all individually or in small groups – owner preference (and if there is a suitable Buddy available) our fields have never been closed in the winter.We have a 20×40 floodlit arena with training mirrors and sound system. In the years we have been here it never has flooded or frozen.WC, tea room, lorry parking available and secure, alarmed tackroom.Access to miles of off road hacking inc small XC jumps. All instructors/vets/farriers welcome.No dogs due to a very dominant cat!Although we don’t have any young Children on the yard we are child-friendly, we just ask that they be supervised at all times.Quiet, smaller yard compromising of 12 liveries. All lovely, friendly, supportive people. A genuinely nice place to enjoy downtime with your horse.

At thatchers it is our aim that we have a yard filled with happy horses and happy owners so we do our job to our absolute best. We have grown up working on competition yards and breed our own dressage horses so we are extremely competent and knowledgable.

We give horses the care they need to fulfil their physical and mental health. In order to do this we keep to the 3 F’s;

1. Friends

We allow our horses to live together in a herd environment, they are herd animals after all.

We DO NOT keep horses in solitary confinement
We DO NOT keep horses locked in stables
We DO NOT keep horses in singular paddocks

2. Forage

We allow our horses access to our own rye free adlib hay in feeding stations around the track. They also have the natural medicinal cabinet of a mixture of hedgerow, specially selected plants and minerals.

We DO NOT have horses on starvation diets
We DO NOT have horses on short calorie rich ex dairy pasture
We DO NOT leave horses without forage

3. Freedom

Valley View Equestrian Ltd is a BHS Approved Highly Commended livery yard offering Five day and Seven day livery packages and services. We are set in in a quiet and secluded valley on the outskirts of Lytchett Matravers.

We currently cater our services to all types of horses, from retirees to 2* event horses alongside those on long term medication/medical needs. We are very adaptable at tailoring our care to meet any and all needs.

Our 12ftx12ft stables are situated in our spacious American barns that are light and airy accompanied by deep straw or shavings beds.

We offer a fully bespoke feeding plans in working closely with Saracen Horse feeds. (Other feeds are available on request.)

Summer and winter turnout (group/individual) is available– we pride ourselves on our field management, all grazing is rotated/rested and routinely poo picked.

Scott is a BHS Accredited professional Coach and provides coaching sessions for our liveries and external private clients, riding club and pony club clients.
