The Sotterley Estate is a short ride from our yard where you will find miles of designated horse trails and tracks. Dunwich Forest is a 10 minute drive away offering beautiful hacking including a route onto the beach. We can also offer equestrian holiday packages for you and your horse. staying in our holiday cottage which overlooks the paddocks

Our facilities include an indoor flood lit arena & outdoor arena (will be flood lit this year), summer riding paddock with a range of jumps and small cross country, and a winter riding paddock.

Weekly clinics held throughout the year by a range of visiting instructors to cover all areas of training.

Grazing depends on your horse’s needs throughout the year. Options can be discussed if restricted is needed in the summer months. All types of livery include ad lib use of hay and haylage.

DIY

Horses/ponies

Assisted 5/7 days 

All of the above that is included in DIY.

Either turn out or turn in.

• Feed, feed is to be left ready by owner.
• Hay to field, net is to be left filled and ready the night before by owner.
• Rug change.
• Fly mask, spray/ointment, to be provided by owner.
• Administering of medication.

Full 5 days without exercise/with exercise 

All of the above that is included in DIY & assisted.

Full Monday to Friday, DIY on Saturday & Sunday.

• Full care all day.
• Turning out & turning in.
• Feet picking.
• Mucking out.
• Filling of water and nets.
• Making feeds.
• Holding for appointments.

With exercising a plan is to be fully discussed.

Full 7 days 

All of the above that is included in DIY, assisted & full 5 days.

• Shavings OR sawdust OR mixed.
• Basic feed. (Supplements & any extra feeding is supplied by the owner).
• Quarterly fecal egg worm count. (Wormer if needed will be charged to the owner).

Full 7 days with exercising/breaking 

All of the above that is included in DIY, assisted & full 5/7 days.

• Clipping. (If sedation is needed fees will be charged to the owner)
• Riding/exercising/breaking.

Breaking livery is a minimum of 3 months stay.

Breaking livery’s must be halted broken and handled prior to arrival with hooves in trimmed & in a suitable condition to be starting there ridden career.

Retirement & Youngstock Grazing Only 

• Daily checks. Including rug changes, fly masks.
• Fly spray, sunscreen.
• Daily basic feed. (supplements/special feeding provided by owner).
• Administering of medication.
• 24/7 access to salt, vitamin & mineral licks.
• Weekly photos/owner check in.
• Appointment organisation & holding for dentist, vet etc. (Fees of the professional visiting is charged to the owner)
• Fecal egg counts quarterly. (If a wormer is needed this charged to the owner).
• Holding for farrier. (General hoof trimming is included)
• Foot care, oil/dressing.
• Grooming.
• All paddock management.

Emergency stabling available £8 per night.

Retirement & Youngstock With Stable 

All of the above in grazing only is included in this package.

• Stable, buckets, hay nets/feeders.
• Stabled over night or in extreme weather/owners request. Stabled in the winter months (November to April).
• Sawdust or shavings or mixed.
• Daily muck out & skip out when required.

Both packages include ad lib hay/haylage all year round.

Winter paddock turnout is mixed herd, the back of the field is well screened with mature trees.

All horses/ponies/Shetlands must have a negative strangles test prior to arrival & be up to date/started flu and tetanus vaccinations.

• Woodchip lounging area for rolling and sunbathing
• 15m x 25m hard standing (eventually will be covered with sand deep enough to roll in) on the shady side of the barn to get out of hot summer sun and flies
• Summer track system winding round 20 acres of hilly woodlands with rotating access to woodland paddocks.
• Comprehensive parasite control plan with regular paddock cleaning/poo picking
• Use of 3.65m x 3.65m galvanised and composite boarding stables when needed
• Ideal environment for horses prone to or recovering from laminitis or other metabolic disorders
• All horses in the herd are barefoot, we can help transition yours to barefoot here

Earswick Equestrian is a family run yard in the village of Earswick four miles north of the beautiful city of York North Yorkshire, with easy access to the A64 and local villages

At Earswick Equestrian we offer a full range of livery packages from DIY, assisted DIY, part livery and full livery or anything to suit your needs.

We offer our clients stabling in our American Barn. All stables are rubber matted and have auto-waterers. There is also a secure tack room, feed room and hardstanding wash down area.

Grazing is individually or in groups in well-maintained paddocks with automatic waterers. All poo picking is done by the yard!

There is a floodlit outdoor arena with show jumps, fully lit indoor arena and a seasonal jumping/ schooling paddock.

Since we have opened, we have welcomed some lovely liveries!!! Grass livery to full and retirement livery available.

Box sizes varied to suit, ranging from 20x15ft- 9x15ft with automatic waters. 24/7 summer turn out. Herd grazing – mares and geldings, with ability to accommodate laminitic horses and horses on restricted turn out, and automatic waters in fields. Feed room, Secure tack room and trailer/ lorry parking.

Sand lunge pen 25x27m (plans for an outdoor arena to be installed). Seasonal on site hacking track around fields. Local hacking is mostly lanes, but bridle paths are within hacking distance.15min by trailer to Brechfa forestry and 30mins by trailer to poppet sands beach

Owners live on site with expensive industry experience- hunting, national hunt, professional grooming services, point to point racing. Horse holidays also available. As a livery centre we wanted to offer the possibility of other horsey people being able to come holiday with us and experience the beautiful west wales countryside.

We are lucky to have a 2 barn system and very good field placement, where we can accommodate holiday liveries and static liveries at the same time and safely.
